You could be swallowing a surprising dose of microplastics before you’ve even finished your first cup of coffee.

And the source may not be the plastic water bottle you already stopped buying. Maybe you store leftovers in glass. You choose “clean” foods. You make a morning smoothie packed with ingredients you feel good about.

You may even think you’ve done a pretty good job of reducing plastic in your routine.

But some of the most overlooked exposures may be happening while you’re preparing those healthy foods and drinks.
