FAQs
Please read our FAQs page to find out more.
Are there any safety or tolerability concerns with any of the Onco-Adjunct products?
The Onco-Adjunct family of products is generally well-tolerated. We advise you to consult with your healthcare practitioner regarding any questions or concerns about using these products, as well as the appropriate dosing for your needs.
We have a blood thinner warning on Pathway 2™, as it has a blood thinning effect. If you are taking blood thinners, consult with your physician before using.
Additionally, you should skip taking Pathway 2™ (or P2-Ferro™) on the day before, day of, or day after undergoing chemotherapy, unless guided otherwise by your physician, as it may diminish the effectiveness of chemo cytotoxic interventions.
Are there potential interactions with any chemotherapy, radiation, or other drugs my physician may prescribe me?
These products should only be used under medical supervision. Do not use without consulting your doctor if you are taking any blood thinners.
We advise you to consult with your healthcare practitioners regarding any questions or concerns about using these products, and their appropriate dosing.
Do not take this product on the day before, day of, or day after a chemotherapy treatment, as it may diminish the effectiveness of chemo cytotoxic interventions.
The following interactions with curcumin have been discussed in the literature:
- Chemo therapeutic suppression was potentially found with curcumin and camptothecin, mechlorethamine, and doxorubicin. Somasundaram S, Edmund NA, Moore DT, Small GW, Shi YY, Orlowski RZ. Dietary curcumin inhibits chemotherapy-induced apoptosis in models of human breast cancer. Cancer Res. 2002;62(13):3868-3875. (PubMed)
- Curcumin affects the FXa node in the thrombin pathway. Any anti-coagulant therapy that acts directly on thrombin should be avoided (Hirudin, Argatroban, Bivalirudin, Dabigatran). Any Indirect or direct FXa inhibitors should be discussed with your doctor.
When I call your support line, why do they direct me to your website?
We are not licensed medical practitioners and therefore cannot dispense medical advice. We can refer you to product information provided on our website… or read a bottle label to you. However, we cannot give you any medical or dosing advice specific to your situation.
How long should I take the products?
This is a very individual decision that should be made in collaboration with your licensed medical provider.
What is the best way for me to measure success and assess that the products are helping?
Your physician will have his or her testing protocols, so you should work with them in these measurements.
Is the recommended dose of Pathway™ products the same for everyone?
We include recommended dosing on each label. But we strongly recommend you work with and follow the advice of your physician.
What makes Pathway 2™ and Pathway 3™ different from other quercetin and berberine supplements? Why is LPS™ technology important?
The difference is found in the technology we utilize to get the polyphenols into your system. Most polyphenols have long been defined by their inability to absorb into the human body.
We solved that problem with Liquid Protein Scaffold™ (LPS™) technology.
A group of researchers from Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation and the University of Oklahoma were exploring ways to take certain plant extracts that were very poorly absorbed in the gut and make them ultra-bioavailable.
The result was a molecular curcumin that was taken in capsule form. Tests were performed showing never-before-seen exponential levels in the bloodstream, with rapid, transformative results. We now apply LPS™ Technology to a variety of other botanicals so they can deliver maximum cellular support to humans and animals.
When I start taking the Pathway 1™ tincture, will it make me drowsy?
Some people do experience an initial drowsiness with Pathway 1™ due to the presence of cannabinoids, though the THC levels fall below the 0.3% limit. We therefore recommend a half dose for the first three days, taken at bedtime.
You should not operate a motor vehicle or other equipment until you have experience of how your body interacts with it. Drowsiness usually diminishes rapidly as your body adjusts.
Due to the THC content in Pathway 1™, you will test positive if subjected to a drug test.
We now offer a THC-free version of Pathway 1™, which provides you with an alternate option if you don’t want the drowsiness effect or are concerned about the potential for a drug test.
Are these products approved by the FDA?
Dietary supplements are regulated by the FDA with regards to manufacture and label claims. However, supplements are never approved in the way that pharmaceutical drugs are.
All our products, including our Pathway™ products, are manufactured in strict accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) protocols in our own pharma manufacturing facility. Our facility has been inspected by the FDA.
Where do you source the ingredients in the Pathway™ products?
Many of our ingredients are sourced from India (where most of the world’s curcumin is grown) and the Middle East, with some support ingredients sourced from the United States and other parts of Asia. We source from companies that work with local farmers who do NOT use pesticides or GMOs.
When ingredients hit our loading dock, they are put into a “quarantine” status until we can test for whether the ingredient is actually that which is on the label. We run numerous purity tests throughout the entire production process. In addition, there are additional tests and standard operating procedures that are part of our GMP certification.
Where are the products made?
All our products are made at our FDA-registered, GMP-certified facility in central Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in the U.S.A.
What is the difference between Pathway 2™ and Pathway 2-Ferro™?
Pathway 2™ and Pathway 2-Ferro™ utilize two different protein scaffolds. Pathway 2-Ferro™ uses shellfish-free chondroitin as the scaffold for curcumin and quercetin, with synergistic frankincense. It is favored by those who are trying to reduce cysteine in their diet. Pathway 2™ uses brown rice as a scaffold.
What does natural cell clearing mean?
Natural cell clearing relates to the natural death of an old or damaged cell. Curcumin and quercetin may help your body clear those cells to make room for newer cells by stimulating the p53 pathway.*
What is healthy cell division, proliferation, and differentiation?
Pathway 1™ contains three ingredients that support different cellular pathways in our cells.* For example, hemp extract may support the PPAR-gamma pathway – an epigenetic pathway responsible for the differentiation and division of cells.* Frankincense may support optimal cell proliferation by influencing the caspase pathway.*
Are you willing to accept a call from my physician if they desire to speak with you?
